I took one of my bakkies there on a referral from Tyreworks Menlyn – and it turned out to be the worst mistake I’ve made.
The so-called manager/owner is outright rude and unprofessional. I dropped the bakkie off early in the morning, expecting proper service – nothing was touched the entire day. By the next day, instead of results, all I got were excuses. They’ll quote you one price today, and by tomorrow, it’s suddenly double.
When you question them, the owner has no problem screaming at customers, slamming the phone down, and even insulting clients directly. He told my driver, “come fetch your stupid bakkie.” That’s the level of “service” you can expect.
Unreliable, dishonest, and arrogant. Do yourself a favor – stay far away from these people.

I am extremely disappointed with the service I received at Syd’s. About three weeks ago, I took my car in with a list of concerns, specifically requesting that the CV joints on both the left and right sides be replaced. I was told the job would take two days, yet they kept my car for three with no communication whatsoever.
When I finally got my car back, I was under the impression that everything had been done correctly. I even asked them to quote me on additional work, such as the front brakes, but after numerous follow-ups with no response, I took my car elsewhere to a company that actually wants to do business.
Two weeks later, the same clapping noise returned — now from both sides. At the new workshop, I asked them to investigate, and they confirmed that the CV joints were in fact shot. In other words, the very issue I had asked Syd’s to address was never resolved.
When I contacted Syd’s to explain, the owner shockingly claimed that they only “service” CV joints and if they fail, it’s not their problem. This lack of accountability and dismissive attitude is unacceptable.
In my opinion, Syd’s does not operate with integrity, and I would strongly caution the public against trusting them with your vehicle. Rude staff, poor communication, and questionable workmanship make for an unpleasant and costly experience.

Took my M3 to replace stock springs back on the vehicle, When the car got to alignment they could not figure out why the car was pulling to the extreme left which never happened, The owner did not care about checking if the work was done correct, He told me he did me a favour by not charging for alignment, he told me to go somewhere else, this is what I did and guess what my spring had been installed upside down causing damage to my suspension, Thankfully a bmw specialist managed to get the car back in its original form, the owner does not care about his service or clients, what should have costed me 1600 ( which apperntly was a good price) costed me way more to fix, The owner was sent videos and photos of the dodgy workmanship and has read my messages and not responded
Go to a reputable repair shop, this isn't one anymore, continue if you want to deal with more issues
